Apple’s Family Sharing

by | Mar 4, 2019 | Mac, macOS Apps, Apple | 0 comments

Family Sharing is a great feature which allows you to install apps that another family member purchased which saves you money by avoiding to purchase a new license. A few requirements to make this happen is that the person who purchased the app needs to enable Family Sharing on their end, the receiver needs to be on the purchaser’s Family Member’s list, and lastly, the App that wants to be shared needs to support Family Sharing.

One thing to remember and consider is that when you’re updating an app or reinstalling the app that was originally shared by someone else, you’ll be prompted to enter the purchaser’s Apple ID password, this may be difficult if the purchaser isn’t available at the moment. If you wanted the app registered to you instead, you’ll have to uninstall the App and download a fresh copy under your own Apple ID.
