Unlike many who prefer to use spam filters, I, for one, find it counterproductive. I’d much rather delete spam than being asked why I haven’t responded to an inquiry sent to me a week ago. Why take the risk of missing out on an important email that could result in delays, miscommunication, and missed opportunities. I don’t believe in Spam Filters and just don’t get it. I understand that there’s so much junk out there, but you have to go back and ask yourself how that happened. Be mindful of what you sign up for and who you give your email address.
Here are some ways to “turn off” Spam Filtering in popular email service providers (courtesy of c-command.com):
- Yahoo: Turning Off the Yahoo Mail Spam Filter
- Google: Turning Off the Gmail Spam Filter
- FastMail: Turning Off the FastMail Spam Filter
- GoDaddy: Turning Off the GoDaddy Spam Filter
- Hover: Turning Off the Hover Spam Filter
- Microsoft: Turning Off Microsoft Spam Filters
- Others: Turning Off Other Spam Filters
It is important to note that AOL and iCloud email services have no way of “turning off” spam filters, so for someone like me, I wouldn’t use those email services for that reason alone.
